Mark has worked in the Engineering, Pharmaceutical, and Automotive industrial sectors since the mid 1980's and he is presently shaping and developing Information Security at General Motors as the Global Manager for Information Security Strategy and Planning.
He is accountable for direction and development of the Information Security Governance, Strategy, Planning, Policy, Risk Management, Communication, and Education and Awareness functions within the Information Security Organisation at General Motors. Mark has global responsibility to envision and articulate the logical and physical architecture models, policy and process changes, and service model that will take General Motors Compliance organisation to a higher maturity level. He also has responsibility for the spearheading of the longer-term strategic solution development for Joint Venture and Alliance/BPO integration into the General Motors ‘as-is’ and ‘to-be’ architectures’.
Mark has extensive global experience having worked for several major US companies and has managed teams across multiple geographies.
Amongst his professional certifications Mark lists CGEIT, CISM, CISSP, ITIL, ISMS Master Implementer, and Six Sigma as well as being a Fellow and Chartered IT Professional of the British Computer Society.
Adam joined the ISACA London Chapter in April 2007
Adam’s career has spanned market leading organisations within the Quarrying, Banking and Telecoms industries with the last 10 years primarily focussed on managing various technical teams across the Vodafone business. In his current role, as Finance Systems and Online Lead, Adam is developing the Finance systems roadmap and shaping the UK intranet strategy.
Outside of work Adam is Dad to Lottie and Daniel, as well as a keen rugby fan actively supporting both Bath and England Rugby teams.
Adam holds the CGEIT, ACMI, MBCS and CISA designations as well as being certified in Prince2, ITIL and 6-Sigma.

Peter Hanney, CISA & CISM Coordinator
Peter started work in accountancy, then moving into Internal Audit before focusing on IT and Project reviews. He moved from Local Government to Financial Services and in doing so crossed a wide variety of working practices and technologies, from single site mainframes to global wireless services. Experience with compliance work using Data Protection, Basel II, and SOX, has highlighted the usefulness offered by ISACA membership with access to CobIT and IT Governance guidelines. An excellent reason for involvement with ISACA is the opportunity to learn from others and to discuss current and potential work issues. His professional qualifications include IIA, CISA and Prince 2, and he is planning to take the CISM examination. Peter has enjoyed the recent highs and lows following Reading FC.
Angela has worked in Audit and Risk roles in the Financial service sector for several years, currently a Risk Assurance Manager at Skandia Life Pensions and Investments. Responsibilities include, embedding risk management into the project governance process, oversight of change portfolio and project assurance. It involves working with project teams to get controls built into early in the requirements phases and ensuring project and business risks are being adequately managed. Arnie Bates, Events Committee Member
Arnie Bates is the Information Security Officer for Unum Limited, a leading income protection insurance provider. Prior to that he was the European Information Security Manager for Air Products PLC, a subsidiary of Air Products and Chemicals Inc., one of the world’s leading gases and chemicals companies, supplying speciality gases for a broad range of markets in over 30 countries. He holds the CISA, CISM and CGEIT accreditations with the ISACA organisation. He is also a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) with the ISC2 organisation and holds a qualification in forensic investigation techniques from a leading forensics company in Oregon, USA. He is currently a member of the Institute of Internal Auditors’ Guidance Development Committee and actively participates in several Special Interest Groups on Information Security, including chairing the Information Security Special Interest Group (ISSIG), one of the special interest groups of the Institute of Internal Auditors.

Geraint Newton, Webmaster for ISACA-Winchester SIG
Geraint has been the ICT Auditor at the Isle of Wight Council for the past three years. Prior to this he worked in the Council’s Software Development section as a Web Developer, Analyst Programmer and finally as a Team Leader with responsibility for the Authority’s back end systems.
Geraint has a MSc in Information Systems, is a PRINCE 2 Practitioner and a CISA.
